カタカムナ第７首は、日本最古の文献と言われる『古事記』冒頭部分の記述内容と一致します。

『古事記』冒頭では、「天地始めて開けしとき、高天原になれる神の名は、アメノミナカヌシの神、次にタカミムスヒノカミ、次にカムムスヒの神・・・」となっており、これは明らかにカタカムナ第７首が元になっている文書です。この後『古事記』に現れる数々の神の名、たとえばイザナギ、イザナミ、アメノトコタチ、クニトコタチといった神の名も皆カタカムナ文献にあるコトバを用いており、おそらく『古事記』は、稗田阿礼（ひえだのあれ）が唱えたカタカムナからその中の言葉を用いて太安万侶（おおのやすまろ）が作成した物語であると推断されます。こんなことは『古事記』を日本最古の本としている日本の学校教育では教えることができません。しかし、両者を唱えて比較してみれば、明らかに『古事記』に先行してカタカムナが存在していたことがわかると思います。
